Purpose
Small metal fabricating employers do not
always have the resources to develop training
materials for press operators. This program
is designed to assist with training of
press operators.
The
training is offered in both English
& Spanish at no cost to any employer.
However, the employer must agree to
provide feedback to us after using the
program. The feedback instrument consists
of thee perforated pages located in
the Workbook that each participant is
asked to complete before and after the
training. The feedback will assist us
in determining where changes should
be made as well as providing us with
information as to future computer based
training products. When requesting the
program, let us know the number of workbooks
that will be needed (English and Spanish)
as one workbook is provided for each
participant.
Project
Description
This is an interactive computer-based-training
(CBT) program for mechanical power press
operators in both English and Spanish.
It can be used to train an entire group
of employees, or used individually where
an employee can progress at his own
pace. Computer based training is an
interactive training method where employees
can work at their own pace to complete
the lesson. The training presents information
(audio, visually) in small "chunks",
then asks questions of the employee
about the material he just learned.
If the employee responds correctly,
he proceeds to the next lesson. If he
answers incorrectly, remediation takes
place. The employee reviews the material
again and must answer correctly before
going to the next lesson. When the employee
reviews all material and correctly answers
all questions, a certificate of completion
is provided. Scoring of test results
is provided to the employer as a permanent
record of training. The training objectives
include: identify nomenclature and functions
of basic press parts; locate and identify
purpose of press controls; identify
safeguarding methods; identify basic
press operator responsibilities. Training
records will be automatically produced
for the employer on those employees
who satisfactorily complete the training.
Project will include a workbook that
covers more detail than the CD.
