The Safety and Health Achievement Recognition Program (SHARP) is for employers who demonstrate the type of commitment necessary to ensure continued protection of employee's safety and health. Employers have the opportunity to showcase their excellence, to be recognized for their achievement and to be exempted from general scheduled OSHA inspections.

OSHA inspection deferrals are also available for those genuinely working to achieve recognition and exemption status.

“The SHARP process helped us improve our existing safety and health program. As a result, we reduced both the frequency and severity of employee injuries. This has resulted in a reduction in our workman’s compensation premium.”

“The SHARP management audit helped us identify hazards and monitor the correction activities. This has resulted in a more efficient use of available man hours. The SHARP program has helped us become more proactive.”
