Consultation
Video - 13 Minutes
Provides an overview of the services
offered by the Illinois Onsite Safety
& Health Consultation Program, DCEO.
This is a no-cost service, available
to any private employer and is funded
90% by the Occupational Safety & Health
Administration (OSHA). Services provided
include safety surveys, industrial hygiene
monitoring, safety/health management
programs and training.

Power
Zone Ergonomics Video - 12 Minutes
Soft-tissue injuries and illness cost
billions each year. This video covers
employee power zones, the areas where
employees are most comfortable and at
their most powerful to do work. By designing
work that fits more than 90% of the
workforce, it is easier for employees
to work and less tiring, making them
more productive and happier to be at
work. Decreased physical demands translates
into increased production and increased
quality with fewer employee injuries.
This video will identify four employee
power zones so that employees are not
stressed beyond their physical limits.
Power zones let the employer look at
jobs in a whole new way. Quick and inexpensive
fixes will seem obvious.

to develop a Job Safety Analysis (JSA)
that can be used for training employees
in safer work practices. A JSA is a
system of studying a job in order to:
- Identify hazards or potential injuries
which are associate with each job
step.
- Develop
solutions that identifies the proper
way of doing the job, and identifying
methods of eliminating or preventing
injury.

Roofing is one of the industries that
is well known for its hazards and for
disabling work injuries. Because of
the physical injury hazards found in
roofing work, roofing contractors pay
some of the highest worker compensation
premiums in the nation. This video is
designed to promote safety awareness
among roofing contractors. It covers:
Housekeeping & Access Around Site; Scaffolds
& Other Work Platforms; Guardrail Construction;
Stairs & Ladders; Personal Protective

of a truck mixer and the ways to control

Youth Rules!
Protecting the Working Teen
Approximately 15
minutes in length, this video is intended to
assist employers in understanding what their
responsibilities are for providing a safe and
healthful workplace for teenage workers as well
as how to recognize and eliminate workplace
hazards. In addition, parents of adolescents,
school counselors, teachers and adolescent
workers themselves can benefit from this video.
The video was a cooperative effort between
Onsite Consultation, DCEO, and the OSHA North
Aurora and Chicago North Area Offices.
Note: Wallet
cards are available for both the teen worker and
the employer. They are handy pocket cards that
remind young workers what questions they should
ask before starting a new job. For the employer,
they remind them what information should be
given to new workers.
